What I've built and improved
Refurbed: Europe's leading marketplace for refurbished products, a team of 300 people
Engineering Manager (2023–present) · Team Lead (2022–2023)
- Designed and built self-serve platforms for Product and Marketing: a navigation editor publishing to web and mobile across 24 markets, a landing page and campaign admin console, a config-driven campaign pipeline, and the foundation of a new CMS. Now closely involved in the migration to the next generation of the storefront stack
- Led the storefront's experimentation program across 24 markets and millions of monthly visitors: 30+ A/B tests per term, with winning tests typically lifting conversion or revenue by 5 to 10% on the section they target
- Grew engineers up a level in every direction, from junior to mid, mid to senior, and towards Team Lead and Architect, with zero regretted attrition
- Standardised hiring for the squad's stack and introduced the Senior Full-Stack Engineer role, with 30+ interviews across Engineering, Product and UX
- Set practices adopted across the engineering org: an experiment-safety policy now enforced company-wide, observability built from zero, the company's largest engineering meeting, and AI tooling workshops
Cleaning services company in Madrid, building from zero
Lead Fullstack Developer & Architect (2017–2022)
- Designed and built the entire technical architecture from scratch: Symfony/API Platform backend, React frontend, Flutter mobile app with offline NFC-based employee timekeeping
- Managed a team of 4 engineers through the full product lifecycle, from concept to production
- Maintained a direct relationship with the CEO, functioning as the bridge between business requirements and technical execution
Cloud infrastructure platform, early-stage product
Lead Frontend Developer (2018–2020)
- Built and maintained the entire dashboard frontend for a complex cloud infrastructure application
- Translated a technical product into an accessible interface that simplified cloud management for engineering teams
Creative Coding: own web development company
Founder & Lead Engineer (2011–2018)
- Founded and grew a development agency to a team of 7 engineers, delivering 80+ projects across industries, from websites to e-commerce platforms and custom web applications
- Handled the full spectrum: architecture planning, development, client relations, hiring, and business operations
- Built a reputation for finding high-quality, pragmatic web solutions under tight resource constraints
